About Taziya Khana
The Taziya Khana Memorial History, located at Taziya Khana reopened 58 years since the tragic incident with the mission to preserve and protect our roots, culture and identity. The inspiration behind this memorial came from acknowledging the people who were killed here and reviving the historical image of the Zanzibar Shia Khoja’s who contributed to developing our community worldwide.
To understand how the Khoja community was built means understanding their ancestral roots,culture and livelihood. These individuals helped the community grow and it is essential for the present and future generation to acknowledge their generous contribution.
Cost
It’s a Tsh 3,000 entry fee per person-group discounts
available. The fee goes towards the preservation and mainteinence of the memorial.
