MEHFILE-ALI-MAKAM
In 1911, the late Datoo Hemani purchased the dipladated premises from Trustees of late Janmohammed Dossa and demolished to build a new structure. The ground floor frontage was reserved for Reading Room (library) whereas the rare portion earmarked as Pantry and Kitchen and set on to the extreme end away from the main building. The upper top floor front side accomodated as Gents Mehfile whereas the rareside was set for ladies.
The Mehfile is over 104yrs old. Since its construction in 1911, the property structure was found in poor condition and unstable to hold any events. After aquiring permission by government, the KSIKJ committee with the financial help from the President & trustee of Jamaat, Marhum Naushad Mohamed Suleiman, taking upon the task to preserve this monumental premises. Alot of its original material were able to be saved by giving it an extra structural support, a touch of old with new upgrades inside. Bathrooms facilities were added (which was non existence) for both gents and ladies. Mehfile Ali Makam officially reopened it doors in 2019 to the community and since then, all the ‘wiladat/kushali/Jashn and weddings’ are conducted at this location.
